Kinda surprised that no one suggested this after all those hints in the RAZR thread, but Moto X Pure/Style where I live. Good choice, if so.

I’d get one myself, but I’ve been living the Nexus life for too long, and want all that juicy day-one update fun. Also, I prefer smaller screens, though I’m still gravitating more towards the 6P than the 5X ‘cause of the spec differences, and the fact that you can get it in 64GB if you want. (Another big plus for the Moto: micro-sd support.)

Ah, cool. It’s an odd naming scheme. I think, if Moto had already announced their Marshmallow release date, I’d probably be tempted enough to go for one.

As is, I’m kinda in phone limbo. The 5x is pretty disappointing, and the 6P is crazy overpriced in the UK—though, it should be said, not quite to the same extent as on the continent. With the 5X, if you’re buying from Carphone Warehouse, the price works out to the dollar amount, plus VAT and about fifteen quid, which is pretty reasonable. The 6P’s about sixty quid more than it should be.

yeah it really is confusing as I’m forever getting confused between the 2 when explaining them, I’ve not had the pleasure of holding a style yet so don’t know how I’d get on with the 5.7 screen as I thought the 5.5 OPO was large enough/slightly too big when I first got it

I’m coming from a Nexus 5, and honestly, I preferred the size of my old 4.7 inch Galaxy Nexus even to that. Sadly, there really are no reasonably-sized phones that fulfil my requirements these days, so I don’t have much of a choice. The OnePlus 2 is another option I’m considering, but I doubt I’ll be getting an invite any time soon, and besides, it has the same update issues as the X. Oh, and no NFC, so mobile payments are definitely out.

I got an invite but didn’t use it as I’ve heard that it still over heats and the OS is buggy so the X Style is the next one in the queue price & performance wise, only thing it’s missing which is no biggie and that’s a fingerprint sensor

Yeah. I do lock my phone these days - have to, to use my uni’s wifi - but I’ve got it set up so as long as it’s at home, or connected to my Pebble, it stays unlocked. About the only thing I want a fingerprint sensor for is mobile payments—I know Android Pay’s probably still a long way off over here, but banks are starting to integrate the functionality into their own apps.

The X is a killer bargain, ‘specially if you’re willing to forsake Moto Maker and get it on Amazon for forty quid off what Moto’ll sell you one for.

It’s included; the extra £99’s for accidental damage cover, in case you drop it or whatever. If anything goes wrong with the phone itself, it’ll be covered under the standard warranty.
